2015 Ford Atlas is supposed to be a first offspring of Ford’s thirteenth generation pickup trucks, scheduled for a release somewhere in late 2014. or early 2015. When mentioning pickups, everyone knows that Ford F-series is top of the pops, having a tradition of nearly 70 years. Even though Atlas is still considered only a concept, judging by the first glimpses of it during 2014. North American International Auto Show in Detroit, it is clear that very little will be changed (at least in exterior) when it finally arrives to the showrooms. The new 2015 Ford Atlas is actually a new generation F-150 and will surely have a very similar engine.

2015 Ford Atlas Specs
It is expected that 2015 Ford Atlas, is going to be powered by a „Next generation“ 2.7-liter twin-turbo EcoBoost V-6 engine with start-stop system and over 300 hp. It has active grille shutters that close when cooling requirements are low, all in favor of better aerodynamics which will improve fuel economy by up to 2 mpg. Some of the other features include a 360-degree camera that is very usefull when it comes to low speed maneuvers, hidden cargo ramps located under the bed floor, tailgate step, roof-carrying system etc.
Even with all of that, couple of the most useful features of 2015 Ford Atlas have to be Dynamic Hitch Assist that helps the driver alligning the ball and hitch using the rear camera and Trailer Backup Assist which greatly helps inexperienced drivers in backing up a trailer to its parking spot. With efficient use of aluminum, weight is supposed to be reduced by up to 700 pounds. Price is expected to be around $30,000, but no one should be surprised if it reaches a bit higher figures when it finally „hits the shelves“.
2015 Dodge Ram
Dodge Ram is one of the main competitors for American pickup truck market. It has a 35 year long history and stands shoulder to shoulder with the best of them. As fourth generation of Rams is getting older, time inevitably comes when the fifth generation will be inducted. 2015 Dodge Ram will probably be the last one of the fourth generation. That means, no significant changes will be made, compared to the last year model. New Ram will come in seven different trims: SLT, Laramie, Laramie Longhorn, Ram Tradesman, Big Horn, and Outdoorsman.
They will have pretty much the same exterior design with minor differences. Engine options will probably remain the same which means there will be a choice between 5.7L Hemi V8 with 390 hp and 407 lb-ft of torque and 3.6L Pentastar V6 that develops 305 hp and 268 lb-ft of torque. One possibility is the addition of 3.0-liter V-6 EcoDiesel powertrain that is capable of developing 240 hp and 420 lb-ft of torque. With six trims and three options of 1500, 2500 and 3500 models, it is clear that buyers will have a variety of choices opened up before them. Prices will also vary from $24,385 up to $52,790 which is a pretty steep price for a pickup.
2015 Ford Atlas will surely continue to dominate as America’s favorite pickup because it goes in hand with the time and is also more affordable than competition is. 2015 Dodge Ram brings power and style, but its more luxury trims might be way out of an average pickup owner’s price range.
